Bi-colour LED (red/white) (5mm dia)
This LED has three 'legs'. There are two sorts -
a) The centre leg is a common cathode (ie negative lead) and the two outer legs (anodes) are connected to the positive supply
b) The centre leg is a common anode (ie positive lead) and the two outer legs are cathodes which are connected to negative.
Connecting the outer legs will make the LED glow bright white or red dependent on which one is connected to the supply. If you are connecting this LED to the direction outputs from the RCT-Rx102, you will not need to use a current-limiting resistor as one is built-into the Rx. However, with all other applications, then a resistor will need to be connected to the cathode, its value being dependent on the voltage being used (see below). Available with or without 20cm wires attached. See more .....

Resistors for LEDs
If you are not connecting LEDs directly to an RCT-RX102 receiver, you will need to include a resistor in series with your LEDs. The value of the resistor is dependent on the supply voltage. To use the LEDs supplied by RCT Trains, you will need the following values:
- 3.5v - 150ohms
- 7.5v (or less) - 270ohms
- 12v (or less) - 680ohms
- 18v (or less) - 820ohms
Available singly or in packs of five
£0.05 each or £0.20 for five
1k resistors
If you are intending to use RCT receiver output pads to trigger soundcard effects by connecting them to soundcard inputs, then it is advisable to protect the receiver from excess back current from the soundcard by putting a 1k resistor in each trigger lead. See more ....

Lithium-ion battery protection circuit boards
These circuit boards help to protect rechargeable lithium batteries from over-charging, over-discharging, excess current drain and short circuit. When making battery packs for locos with two or three lithium cells in series (2S or 3S), it is essential that they are protected from adverse conditions. Please do not make up your own packs of lithium batteries unless you are confident about what you are doing. See more ........
